Fun at the Zoo!

My mom and Nicholas were in town last weekend, so we decided to go to the zoo. We let the kids play on the very cool playground and then enjoyed a picnic lunch (thanks Mel) before heading in to see the animals. The girls had so much fun and loved all of the animals, but especially the baby monkey's and the elephants. They were scared of the lion and tiger though.

We will definitely be bringing the girls back to the playground, in front of the zoo, soon. They absolutely loved playing there and took a very long nap afterwards!

Circus

We took the girls to the circus for the first time yesterday and they had a lot of fun! My dad (aka Papa), Tanya, George, Georgie, Melanie, Ben, Caroline & Noah were all there too. Before the circus began, we took the kids down to the main floor to see everything up close, but they did not like this. A clown tried to greet us and the girls began crying immediately. So we decided to find our seats and buy the kids (young & old) some circus treats.


Would you believe that ONE bag of cotton candy cost $12?! But it did come with a felt, yellow hat as seen in the pictures below. The girls favorite treat was their HUGE lollipop - Hannah liked hers so much that she fell asleep with it in her mouth (see lips and shirt below)...


Grace seemed to enjoy every bit of the circus; she was clapping, dancing and laughing the entire time. Hannah had a good time too, once she woke up. I think their favorite thing was seeing all of the elephants, horses, dogs, and tigers.

Funny Story (Potty Training Update)

I forgot to tell Brad that Scout got out, right as I was leaving to meet my friend for dinner last Saturday night. While I was at dinner, Tanya and I both got text messages from Brad and they went like this:

"WTF...Someone forgot to tell me that Scout got out of the house...As I was trying to get Scout away from the scared neighbor, H & G appeared at the front door, no pj's and no diapers, yelling for Scout..."

Hannah and Grace definitely make us smile! While the girls love taking all of their clothes off (constantly) to go potty and sometimes actually go potty, I don't think we are ready for hard core potty training yet. We will continue to practice before and after bath and whenever they ask, but that's all for now.

Playing in the Tent

Brad set up a tent, in our bedroom, for the girls to play in. I guess he is hoping that they will love camping as much as he does. I think it's working because they LOVE playing in the tent! Scout likes it too.

Gingerbread Cookies!

Earlier this week, we went over to our friends (Alisa, Frank & Alex) house to have dinner and decorate gingerbread cookies. Alisa made spaghetti (I love her spaghetti) and had bought a gingerbread man cookie kit for the kids - they enjoyed eating the mini M&M's while we decorated their cookies! Alex and the girl's are the same age and act silly/play well together. Thanks Alisa and Frank for a fun night!

Merry Christmas!

I was in the kitchen helping get dinner ready and when I turned around, Grace had climbed into Lilly's exersaucer - she is also wearing Lilly's Santa hat (both things are way too small for her). If you are wondering, Grace is definitely our little comedian!















This year was so much fun with the girls! They have thoroughly enjoyed all of the Christmas lights everywhere, snowmen, and even Santa (as long as he didn't come close to them).

We went to church on Christmas Eve and the girls got to see a REAL donkey and pony at the live nativity scene. After church, we went to my dad's house to celebrate Christmas with my side of the family. We had a lot of fun!

We stayed home on Christmas morning to let the girls enjoy the goodies Santa brought. They were so excited! I think we played with EVERY new toy they got (within an hour). After lunch and naps, we went over the Brad's parent's house to celebrate Christmas with his family. After opening presents, we ate a delicious dinner (made by Brad's mom) and then headed home - we were exhausted!
